Bluetooth scanner setup

External USB and Bluetooth HID barcode scanners are supported as a faster alternative to the camera in high-volume settings. When one is connected, the Scan tab swaps the camera preview for the External Barcode Scanner Ready card and listens for keyboard-emulated barcode input.

  1. Pair your scanner via iOS Settings › Bluetooth or Android Settings › Connected devices. The app supports any HID-class scanner that emulates a USB keyboard, including most Bluetooth retail and healthcare scanners.
  2. Open the app and tap the Scan tab. With an external scanner attached, the camera preview is replaced by the External Scanner card shown below.
  3. Point the scanner at a barcode and pull the trigger. The decoded data appears in the same recognized-product card as a camera scan — there's nothing extra to configure.

Unlike the other scanning workflows, this card does not depend on the camera at all — it's a pure listening state. The screenshot is the production widget exactly as it appears in the app.
